and also coz I wanna practise outdoor shooting with the new lens...
im such an aperture-whore... hard for me to force myself to use fstop larger than 3....
but luar.. landscape... kena use higher f.... baru sharp... so... kena biasakan diri..
before i go travel :D

yg ade canon L (luxury) lens 24-70mm pon prefer tamron...  sbb sharper.....
exactly what im feeling right now with this 17-50mm..  not that I can afford an L lens pon...

senang nak camwhore with 17mm focal length

indoor, no flash... banyak noise and color noise... tapi removed using lightroom...

tapi noise removal gonna make the pic a bit soft.. not sharp..

not that this pic was sharp in the first place anyways (pftt cameraman)

but soft pics for portrait is okay la...

i kinda like this effect.. so I'm not gonna adjust the white balance to the correct one

Compare kan MTF50 LW/PH..... Tamron non vc ni lagi sharp from VC and from my current Canon lens.. *sobsss***

Initially aku carik yang VC... vibration compensation?  lebih kurang
cam Canon punye image stabilization aa (IS)
lagi mahal by 3-4 hundred RM...

tapi review kata non VC lagi sharp from  VC......
oklaaa.. bleh beli the cheaper one without feeling like im missing out

all pics are SOOC (straight out of camera - xde manipulation, except the in camera picture profile aa)..
all below pics are without flash... this lense rocks my lowlight world!

oh and beli 2nd hand from lowyat forum.. even the EOS camera pon 2nd hand from there... all prove to be excellent bargains...

lotsa noise.... no flash pics... but I like the catchlights in the eyes.. so its a keeper

DSLR back button focusing? opposed to half pressed focusing

susah tul subject bergerak ni... entice ngn ipad... kurang gerak tapi still gerak and threw off my focus..
but looks good gak... mebbe shud stick to this back button focus?

Setting:  Auto focus, back button focusing and AI servo...

ni pulak tengah try manual focusing (with the ring , no auto focus)
zoom in x100 (ke x10?) nak tgk closeup sharpnesss... aku focus and closeup kat mata
dekat 10 minit kot aku cuba focus... 3-4 kali camera went to sleep on me.. ishh.. susah..
terus sharp aku terus snap...
rupanye tgh korek idung! potong betul aaa amir ni

Setting: manual focus

Flash always whitens! grrr!

Was testing my flash today...
this was the first shot... nice eye contact.... but way overexposed....
after this shot, Amir became bored.. so he didnt look at the camera...
so eventhough I found the sweet spot.. no eye contact T_T....

so tried to save the picture ....using photoshop.. and camera raw..
camera raw has my lens profile to correct for lens distortion... mak ske!!

these are un edited shots with flash... the goal is for ppl to not know flash is involved...

hard to do  eh? flash is harsh! shadows under the chin is always a tell tale... sighh
