Sakura Bloom - Single Linen, Pure line
at first was underwhelmed .... with the keras-ness of the fabric... and the simplicity of the design and the bulkiness of the shoulder... but begin to see difference after washing and ironing... still not as soft as I imagined (maybe I have too high expectation)... but I will keep breaking-in this ringsling.... hopefully will become soft as people say it is..
but i like the sturdiness of the fabric.. definately no fussing at rings after u get the right position... no slipping ... grippy... at first will be leceh nak adjust, but after u get the right fit.. no need to fuss anymore...
due to this, I was able to do handsfree craddle carry for the first time.. before this, the fabric slips and sag... so baby can feel the difference between hand and fabric.... with linen, at first i cradle carry using hand.. then slowly tighten fabric following baby's cradle position.. slowly replacing hand with fabric.. and the baby fell for it!! hahaha...yep very sturdy and grippy...
i thought it would have rail paddings.. i kinda like the babyloft rail padding... (i read that rail paddings are kinder for new RS wearer to avoid pressure points.... p/s: petit belly has padding heheheh)....
as for the shoulder, it is okay.. kinda messy (gathered shoulder)... weight can be distributed to larger area.. but this big span of fabric restrict hand movement... so maybe need to try the UGS ... but it feels okay.. im not really bowled over by it....
all in all.. maybe I have too high expectation... it needs to be broken in before it gets all fluffied up.... but im definately happy with the grippiness and sturdiness... and the fact that I can do cradle carry with the first try.... with the baby awake, no less...
slowly getting to know and love it.... learning all the tweaks and stuff
at first memang everything susah, practise makes perfect...

nah.. more info on the spread legged baby...
mesti ade je orang akan cakap...
baby terkangkang (by babywearing), nanti jalan kengkang...
it's too easy to make that correlation...
so I asked this question at the babywearers meet last saturday....
this one lady.. hanim.. is a doctor... she said its actually good for the baby... to prevent hip dyslasia...
aku dgr2 gitu la.. coz i know i wouldnt understand it anyways...
and she gave me these links...
previous entry was on how front, face to face carry is actually beneficial to prevent hip dysplasia...
here is more info on that...
http://www.emedicine.com/orthoped/TOPIC456.HTM
and here is therapy for babies that have evidence of hip dysplasia (instability)...
http://www.hip-baby.org/pavlik.html
kena pakai brace lagi bagi tolong maintain kangkang and kaki lipat....
seperti previous post cakap..position ni favors healthy development... and an appropriate way to prevent hip dysplasia."
and u know what.. my mommy instict says its fine and natural....
for babies to be in this kaki bent and spread position....
kenapa kita kena sebok2 nak kasik tulang baby tu lurus
(by bedung and stuff)???
aku bedung gak.. tapi mainly nak kasik baby dok diam, no flayling arms sana sini... nyenyak sket tido...
but ive heard people nak bedung kasik tangan and kaki lurus aa...
hope this info will help babywearing mamas fend off those "kangkang nanti kengkang" commments ... hubbies should help explaining this info tooo...
knowledge is POWER!!!

I got a link on the kangkang and kaki lipat issue ..

"And if children are carried sitting upright with their legs spread and strongly drawn up, the parents are also "practicing "--quite coincidentally--prevention of so-called innate hip dysplasia. This requires, however, that the baby's thighs be drawn up at least to a right angle; it's better if it's even more.
This requires, however, that the baby's thighs be drawn up at least to a right angle; it's better if it's even more. Then tithe baby is sitting on the parent's hip or is carried face to face, the baby has a leg position that is ideal for the healthy maturation of the hip joint. If the legs are bent more than 90[degrees] (about 100[degrees] to 110[degrees]) and spread approximately 90[degrees], the femur head fits ideally in the hip socket. This favors its healthy development.
Moreover, the body posture of the baby is not stationary. Through the movements of the parent as well as those of the baby, a constant stimulus is transferred to the child's hip joint, which promotes circulation to the still-cartilaginous structures and supports their maturation. All in all, this way of carrying is an appropriate way to prevent hip dysplasia."
NOTE: which is why I always stress.... knees always above bum!!...

KL babywearers meet!!
what i've learnt: eventhough i imagine myself/would like to be a wrap girl....
as of right now, I am a ring-sling girl......
hopefully with more practise and more calmer baby in the future....
i will be a wrap girl... i love my vatanai!!
but so hard to tighten a vatanai with amir... pressure points maybe??
but for now... i'll enjoy my time with sakura bloom huhuhu
pictures to come.. I'm short of time...
I will only post 1 important pic....
amir and gabby... too cute!!
I am so digging this Petite Belly ring sling... so easy to adjust and shoulder so comfy!! this is made from the famous sijira fabric... finally i got to touch it... takde la lembut, but supportive and sturdy and easy to adjust... I really love it! (erk!!! no more ring-sling!!!! enoughhh enoughh!!)
The very hyped P-Sling!! finally i got to touch and wear a P-sling.... but the shoulder was okay... not that great and not really easy to adjust compared to Petite Belly.... made from sijira fabric too.... for me, not living up to the hype that is P-sling...
Liza punye Hotsling pouch..... this one a bit big for me Jess cakap.... (jess is the expert on pouch, who am i to argue..) so riding a bit lower than I would like it....but I'm really digging the pouch now that Amir have neck control!!!... maybe its time to get into pouches?? (Ohnoooooo.... stoppp stopp!!)
Showing to Mye how to wrap the vatanai ... didnt really tighten it so much coz someone else's baby.... takut laa kan... but the baby was nice and easy to work with... Amir is soo hard to wrap right now... but dun worry, imma keep wrappin'!!... while i'm wrapping, amir and rafiq staring into space....bila nak balik ni mama??!!!
eLLa, my beloved cousin...

ohmigod... rafiq are u crazyyyy....??
(yes, I am going through the usual stressed out period after spending a lot of money.. this is the same kind of stress after i bought my beloved gym bag.... tak nyesal langsung, but so stressed out after spending the money at that time)
kinda hyperventilating right now.... (the terharu, misty eyed part was over 10 seconds ago)... i know i've been hinting like crazy... but u almost always ignore my crazy hints.... u only accept my acceptable hints....
well, i didnt think u'd do it... (i didnt read your email yesterday)..
so i bought one myself !!...
albeit i bought a cheaper single linen one coz thats the only thing i could afford right now (with raya and holiday trip coming)..
no wonder the double linen driftwood-cloud is missing from the sakurabloom website this morning during sahur.. (yes i always stare at the stuff i'm obsessing about.....).. i was kind of sad to see it not there ...
so now, im trying to cancel my own order..
or at the very least... if cannot cancel,to combine shipping...
then I can re-sell my single linen.....
at the FSOT forum, the price of sakurabloom RS still tak jatuh-jatuh walaupun kat website sakurabloom on sale... people are still listing a higher price than the sakurabloom sale price....
(which i thought... still think.. is really-really weird)
the only explanation is limited stock i guess.... the temporary sale wont affect the normal price of the item... after sale ends... people will have to buy at FSOT....
anyways.. thank you rafiq...
i know i make a lot of crazy requests + hints.....
but u always know when a crazy request actually is important to me...
p/s: i left my phone at home...
p/s: mye... aku dah return la SSC aku beli aritu.. not working out.... aku return cecepat so that can get full refund... but liza ade SSC baru heheheh

now that i think back... sebelum pregnant pun aku obsessed...
i was obsessed with gym.. and gym attire and essentials...
awal² tu i did make the mistake of buying cheap..
i bought 2-3 pair of sports bra biasa... priced at Rm30+...
then i bought nike sports bra.. Rm9x.... and there's no turning back..
its soo comfy and supportive... i dont wear all the others..
i would wash and hang everyday .. and wear it again the next day...
(zaman gi gym setiap hari).. even with everyday washing pun tak hilang stretch die..
then sports shoes.. memula beli power.... memang la tak comfy and tak tahan lama..
then reebok.. tahan lama...
then i splurged on nike free 5.0.... i believe i can flyy....
flying kick la.. ringan gile tapak kaki...
and sports pants lak.... aku suka gile seluar nike yg tak ketat
still women.. but tak melekat kat skin nye type..
susah nak carik...
every time gi shopping.. i must go to nike store to find if any new pants dah kuar ke belum..
ni macam activity wajib setiap kali shopping...
setakat ni aku baru ade 2 je.... nike pants yg drifit... and tak ketat (figure hugging)..
baju pun aku carik sewajibnye dri-fit.. or climacool.. or icy ape tah... and panjang tutup 1/2 bontot
susah ko tau nak jumpa baju2 and seluar2 yg masuk description aku ni...
awal2 tu aku penah beli cheap shirts, pants, bra and shoes...
but they are cheap for a reason....
and in the end.... kalau aku awal2 dah beli nike je... kan jimat duit aku....
(aku obssed bout gym sampai beg gym pun nak nike yg lawa (its really the best bag ive seen so far taknyesal beli)
and gloves pun nak nike... tapi ni different story)
itu lah moto aku utk babywearing ni...
i need to buy the high end stuff.. to eliminate pembaziran duit...
skang aku beli babyloft punye ringsling... hurts my shoulder so bad...
i read sakura bloom punye shoulder design tak sakit....
kira dah terbazir jugak la duit sket beli babyloft punye ringsling...
tapi aku guna everyday ringsling tu....
mei tai pun aku beli the best (from reviews).. iaitu Kozy....
babyhawk pun among the best.. but i chose Kozy.. and tak nyesal lagi..
the best in terms of comfort la.. bukan kelawaan...
wrap aku silap beli sleepywear sebab aku nak yg murah...
but its hot!!...
so aku beli vatanai..... and it is soo airy... i love it...!
morale of the story is: there's a reason why something is cheap...
and if u are really serius about something (exercising/babywearing)... and is going to do it for long term.. might as well get the high end stuff early....
u could get cheap sports bras... and ringsling.. but its not comfy and hurts the body..
as a conclusion: i need the sakura bloom double linen ring sling!!!!!
what kind of mom would I be if I dont show nekkid pictures of my baby rite??
well anyways.. im actually trying to make a point...
if you lay your baby (newborn) down... their legs will always go into this position.. froggy
babywearing follows this natural position...
if u angkat him.... his legs will also automatically go into this position... tak caya, go and try with a newborn baby..

i must post pictures of my lovelies... my beloved nike pants...
i actually got 3.... 1 lg tak jumpa gamba anywhere...
how i've missed you....sambung gym in nov...
i can barely fit into them last month.....
still couldnt fit into my nike sports bra....
which remind me.. for record keeping purposes...
Pre-pregnancy: 58kg
End pregnancy: 78kg
Current weight: 63kg....
5kg more to go... but dulu i was more leaner, more muscle than fat...
so meaning, within the 5 kilos... i must loose more fat and build more muscle...
babywearing is a form of weight training.. (boleh bina muscle.... )
that.... and angkat amir superman style in the air repetitively... macam angkat dumbell... osen pun kata terasa kat bicep/tricep...
i could quit gym and workout old style (joggin luar rumah etc).. but i love love loove the classes and the blasted music in my ear... and all the synchronized movements...
my very hard to find pants!!!.. notice how this is not ketat, ass-clinging like the usual women gym pants... and material very2 light... cepat kering...

amir is a happy baby....
tak penah la nangis tak berenti....
tapi selama ni die tak suka berbaring...
tapi situation tu dah improve... skang pepagi aku bangun.. die dah bangun..
die lepak tengok sana sini.. mata bulat... aku tengok die, die tengok aku, die senyumm.. he knows im right next to him..
seblum ni mungkin tak suka diletakkan berbaring sebab ingat kena tinggal..
skang dah belajar yg orang tak tinggalkan die..
or kalau kena tinggal pun, we will come back...
the situation is improving...
buai pulak... aku tak tido kan ngn buai..
die tak dapat ditidurkan ngn buai pon..
kalau die jaga, and campak dlm tu.. die nangeh...
so aku tidokan dulu... babywear.. lepas tertido, baru masuk buai..
buai ni gunanye kasik nap time die tak terganggu... nyenyak..
pastu lepas puas tido... die nangeh mintak kuar...
lepas tu main2 ngn die.. die tak cranky, coz tido semua cukup..
paling lama dalam buai pun sejam setengah...
memalam lak tido atas katil...
skang ni bangun once je nak tuka pampers...
susukan 2 kali....(sekali sama ngn time tuka pampers)
lagi satu cam tak bangun pun coz breastfeed sambil baring..
and amir pun dreamfeed.... time lalok2, aku dah sumbat..
so die tak sempat jaga dari tido dah tido balik....
so sepatutnye tido aku semua cukup.. tapi aku yg sentiasa terbangun malam..
sebab takut die terbangun and nangeh sorang...
asik2 bangun nak cek... budak ni tido tak?
sedangkan.. kalau aku ikut je amir tido... sure sedap je...
tak penah la nangis tak berenti....

my new woven wrap has arrived!!!
(seriusly, english grammer ku makin hampehss.. screw it)
my vatanai kipawa 4m.... !! so softtt and airy....!!
i got it of FSOT (for sale or trade) board at thebabywearer.com forum...
its in excellent used condition..
usually people recommend getting mei tai and wraps 2nd hand...
because then it is nicely "broken in"
(dah lembut aa.. cam kasut baru vs kasut dah selalu pakai)..
the seller threw in epxress shipping.. gile lah.. isnin ku beli, jumaat dah sampai.... masa posmen sampai, ku ingatkan SSC ku yg sampai.. coz i bought that weeks earlier..
im a wrap girl at heart
(meaning, i love the idea of wrapping, not that i actually "can" wrap....)
wrapping is awesome!!... so versatile...
sloppy wrap.. to excited to try....
also the baby was cranky.. die dah nak lelap dalam ringsling..
pastu posmen dtg, aku lak nak try wrap tu dan dan tu gak.... terbangun la die dari tido...(skang dalam buai...)
aku sebenarnye.. nak sangat sangat sangat... maruyama.. the pink vatanai...
but tak sanggup aa pakai with boy baby... and dun think i can get rafiq to wrap if its pink (or "light purple")... if its blue, there's still some hope...
but seriusly... it's sooo soo purrtttyyy...

wuhh i finally succumbed and got a buai....
macam magic pun ade.. senang aje lelap...
kalu terjaga pun, senyap je dalam buai tu...
kagum sungguh aku... nyesal tak pakai awal2 pun ade....
mungkin dah takyah babywear? hahahahha..nah
as usual, takut baby addicted to buai sampai susah nak gi berjalan..
kang jalan sana sini kena bawak buai...
but.. bila difikirkan kembali.. bila sangat la gi jalan jejauh pon..
its like ... 3% of the time...
and seblum ada buai... dah normally mmg susah pon nak bagi die tido...
so basically... kalau gi jenjalan.. is back to normal aa.. (susah)
cuma kat rumah ade buai, jadik lagi senang keje ...
malam still kena tido atas katil....
buai is for nap....
im hoping to train them like shahril buat
(he's the one that lent me his buai for a week)
by the time 6 bulan... anak2 die dgn sendirinye dah tanak naik buai dah...
kira takde addiction problem aa....
aku tak kisah kalau amir nak berbuai sampai setahun ke ape..
cumanye... boleh ke kang buai tu menampung die? hahaha ini pun satu isu....
big heavy baby... tu pasal nak kena bagi die tak addicted ..
sebab kalu dah addicted and tetiba buai tak dapat tampung.. mampus aku...
tapi aku still akan babywear...
i love it... im addicted to it...
aku sebnanye tak totally sure of the outcome of babywearing.. (supposedly will be independend earlier etc etc)
but since amir is already a fussy clingy baby.. why not babywear..
takdek la patah tangan aku nak angkat die....
aritu family day kat port dickson, umur die 38 days
(yep mmg aku berjalan time pantang)..
aku dukung die ke sana sini sepanjang hari..
with my barehands... masa tu ingatkan ringan.
(mmg ringan, tapi kalau dah seharian..)
and ade org kata takyah bawak stroller... aku pun ikut je ckp org...
(terasa bengong gak aku)
tapi shahril bawak 2 stroller utk both anak die... die bagi pinjam satu..
tapi amir fussy gak dalam tu.. so kena gak aku dukung..
masa siang tu, orait aa tak terasa...
malam tu... baru rase..lenguhnye tuhan aje tau...
minyak telon, naman, yu-yi semua aku belasah sapu kat tangan..
tapi minyak baby tak kuat.. sakitnyee tangan aku tauuuu....
tapi memang amir behave la in my arms..
anyways, back to the story..
since amir is already a fussy clingy baby... (which most babies are, they just want to be loved and hugged, is that so wrong??)
rather than guna tangan.. kan ke bagus aku babywear... selamat tangan aku ...
and i have to admit and dengan bangganye aku admit..
im in it for the trend.. if not, boleh je pakai kain batik lepass utk angkat die.. will serve its purpose rite?
but since i have to angkut die sana sini.. why not do it in style...
kalau aku dok US ... aku rase mesti aku beli wraps in banyak kaler and teksture..
pakai matching ngn baju... as it is, i can only afford 1 stretchy wrap and 1 woven wrap..
baby carrier are like shoes...
u can live and get by with one pair... boleh aa nak idup..
but u need one for each occasion...
time sukan kena ade kasut sukan...
time dinner kena ade kasut dinner...
time gi jamban kena ade selipar...
u get my point....
so i need 1 of each carrier type (my goal skang)
(have 1 MeiTai, 1 stretchywrap, 1 ringsling, 1 wovenwrap on the way, 1 SSC on the way.... pouch je aku takde, and aku cuak nak beli coz that is really dependent on size.. silap size, abis)
anyways.. im not really sure of the outcome of babywearing..
but im doing it coz i like the handsfree part.... the closeness.. i like the trend/shopping part of it.... (the actual thing is that im addicted to shopping)
i like the exercise (i give up, i'm freezing my gym membership for time being.. susah la, with all the milk pumping etc)
but, i do believe in the alert state of mind thing...
they say when babies are worn.. they're not in survival mode.... cuak and restless... and rase tak selamat..
so bila worn they feel safe.. and thus spend more time learning around.. more alert and more time spend exercising the brain
yang ni aku percaya..... sebab kalau aku biar je die terbaring.. kang die resah gelisah and susah hati.. muka pun cuak..
kalau aku babywear.. die rase selamat and cam calm and alert.. and tengok sana sini in a calm fashion.. learning his surroundings
this i feel is true....
plus, it gives me something to obsess about...
dulu obsses bace pregnancy websites....
then obsess all things breastfeeding - susuibu.com, lalecheleague, pumps...
i foresee being obsses with baby/kids 'developmental' toys pulak lepas ni.. huhuhu.....
im lovin' it !!!

what is babywearing?
Babywearing is an instinctive parenting style where a baby is held close to the parent in a sling or pouch for a substantial part of the day. It allows a busy parent the freedom to continue their normal daily routine while providingthe richest and most desirable environment for their child.
Social conditioning has led parents to believe that if a baby is held or carried too frequently they will be spoilt, clingy or demanding. Modern research reveals quite the opposite. The physical and psychological benefits associated with baby wearing encourage children to feel secure and content and build a solid sense of self-esteem.
Babywearing calms fussy babies and helps decrease the occurrence of postnatal depression. The close proximity of the baby enables parents to respond to 'non-crying' signals, which results in less frustration and stress and most of all... less crying.
Babywearing not only promotes an intimate connection between parent and baby, it is hailed as one of the most important factors in the healthy physical, intellectual and social development of infants. It promotes good digestion which is believed to greatly eases the distressing symptoms of colic and reflux.
Babies worn in slings are less clingy and tend to initiate separation much earlier than babies less frequently held. It allows them to be AT the centre of activity not THE centre of attention, which is a wonderful environment proven to stimulate brain development and cognitive learning.
ALL babies are born 'pre-mature', that is they are unable to move or feed alone. Babywearing allows a baby to complete its 'exterogestation' period needed for the proper development and health of the infant.
the benefits of babywearing
- Babywearing enables the mother to be acutely aware of her baby's cues and signals and heightens her perception of her child's needs
- Babywearing reduces crying and fussiness by up to 51%, with parents feeling more competent and nurturing toward their children.
- Being in close physical contact with a parent provides a baby with a rich learning environment where all of their most important needs can be met - food, warmth, love and touch
- Babies who are carried learn more, stimulating brain development and expanding their future learning potential.
- Babywearing increases cardiac output, improves circulation, promotes respiration and aids in digestion.
- Babywearing provides the exact level and kind of stimulation an infant requires, energizing their nervous system and creating a quiet, calm alertness in the infant.
- Babywearing decreases the levels of stress hormones circulating in a baby's blood stream, resulting in a more relaxed, happy baby
- Frequently carried babies fall asleep quickly and will usually sleep deeper and for longer periods of time in the comfort of their sling.
- Babywearing develops the muscles needed for the infant to sit, stand and walk.
- Babywearing enhances motor skills by stimulating the baby's vestibular system (balance organs) by exposing the baby to a variety of sights, sounds and motion,.
- Babies worn in slings feel safe and secure which helps to foster a solid sense of self.
- Babywearing offers easy access to the infant's food source - mothers' breast milk, without having to stop or sit down.

baru ku faham tips yg yati bagi.... aku patutnye dok jejauh/baby tak nampak...
got the same tips from malaysianbabywearing forum board..
Hi Elly,
Sometimes the baby will refuse to be bottle fed by the mother.
Why not you try to ask others to feed you LO. Make sure you are not around.
Maybe this will help as the baby sometimes seek for comfort when they are with mummies.
Hope this help.
kiranye nak mengada ngan mak la kan... mak takde, tak ngada.....
at least this means that whenever im not around, he is drinking enough milk...
so relieved jugak to hear that.... kalau die nak comfort feeding when im around, takpelah, aku bagi la comfort feeding (boobies)..
perlu belajar lagi teknik2 breastfeeding... tak habis blajo lagi...

yesterday in history: breastfed using right boob, while laying down and sleeping (dasar pemalas... penat la posa!!)
its not the laying down breastfeeding yg amazing (although it is the first time doing it).... its amazing due to the fact that amir has always rejected the right boob with problematic nipple...
also, he is preferring direct BF to bottles... cries when bottlefed, shuts up when boobyfed... which concerns me because I am working... rafiq pun voiced out his concerns.. "cammane kalau die tanak botol lepas ni?"... orang lain risau baby tak latch-on.. aku pulak worrying the exact opposite.. macam-macam masalah la dunia ni..
hopefully it's just a comfort-feeding phase...

Tried the lexi twist.. definately felt securer and comfier...
no pics of the twist on me.. got some on rafiq...
He volunteered to babywear yesterday while we went shopping...
(well... i am fasting and nursing... )
.
also managed a back carry... multitasking: surfing, watching football on the telly and putting the baby to sleep...

my favourite Kozy patterns... (imagine with black straps)
...
by the way, I wore the legs out incorrectly... the straps should have gone over baby's legs not under... maybe that could increase the comfort level.. need to try again...
also would like to try a lexi twist .... supposedly lagi comfortable... offer more support..(pictures are of BabyHawk Mei Tai, die bersegi sikit)..
